Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Walson-Jack, officially inaugurated the Steering and Local Organising Committees for the upcoming 2026 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC).
According to a statement issued by Director, Press and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, this marks a significant effort to build on the success of the conference’s first edition and continue advancing reforms within the Nigerian Civil Service.
Walson-Jack reflected on the achievements of the 2025 conference, saying, “The event set a new standard for international engagement and knowledge exchange among public administrators.” She praised the earlier committees and partners for their professionalism and dedication, which were vital to the conference’s accomplishments.
Highlighting progress, she explained that key lessons from 2025 have been consolidated into a new International Civil Service Conference Manual, designed to promote consistency, transparency, and excellence. The manual lays out governance structures, standardised procedures, and performance metrics for all future conferences.
Calling the committees to immediate action, Walson-Jack urged members to use their professionalism and teamwork to fulfill their strategic mandate, promising her Office’s full support.

The Steering Committee, chaired by Walson-Jack, will provide policy direction, oversight, and resource mobilization. She stated its core mission is “to align the conference’s objectives with national reform priorities and ensure transparent financial management.”
Permanent Secretary of the Service Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO), Deborah Odoh, leads the Local Organising Committee, responsible for operational execution. She explained the committee’s role as “translating strategic directives into actionable plans, managing logistics, stakeholder engagement, media, and publicity.”
Odoh commended the HCSF leadership for fostering “a culture of creativity, inclusivity, and professional excellence” within the civil service, describing the ICSC as “a unifying platform for civil servants to share experiences and showcase Nigeria’s public institutions.”
Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Chinasa Ogbodo, speaking for the committees, thanked the HCSF for their trust and assured diligent execution of the committee mandates and standards.
The event closed with renewed commitments to transparency, collaboration, and service excellence to drive ongoing civil service reforms in Nigeria.
