Waldrum: No regrets, I want to stay with team

Randy-Waldrum

Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, has expressed pride in his players’ performance against the Three Lionesses.

Speaking in his post-match presser, Waldrum said: “I’m so proud of them, to come in and play like we did tonight. We had every opportunity to get it done. Unfortunately, we couldn’t quite get it done,” FIFA.com quoted the American.

“We had the best chances, we hit the crossbar twice. When it comes to penalties, it’s anyone’s game.”

Similarly, Waldrum has confirmed he wants to remain as the coach of the nine-term African champions.

While speaking during his post-match conference, the American coach said it’s no longer in his hands to determine his future.

“I am proud of my team. I want to stay with this team and continue working towards the Olympics. But that is not a matter for me to decide,” Coach Randy said.

It will be recalled that the NFF had said the future of the Super Falcons gaffer would be decided at the end of the tournament after a series of crises in the build-up to the tournament.
