Wahala App Limited, says it is expanding its business risk management offering through a partnership with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and real-time data analytics to help organisations identify security threats and reduce operational disruptions.

The partnership with the General Leo Irabor Early Warning Systems Centre (GLIC) of the NIIA will give the Centre access to Wahala Network, a platform that aggregates incident reports from individuals, businesses and participating organisations to identify emerging security patterns and potential threats.

The collaboration targets a growing business need for timely security intelligence as companies contend with risks to personnel, logistics, transportation routes and supply chains.

Wahala App said its analytical tools could help businesses identify recurring incidents, uncover vulnerabilities and assess the potential consequences of security developments for their operations. By identifying patterns across reported incidents, the platform is designed to provide organisations with information that can support operational planning, personnel safety and business continuity.

The Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wahala App Ltd, Oriekaose Agholor, said the partnership would expand the application of citizen-generated information in institutional risk assessment and early warning.

He said the company was pursuing additional partnerships with government agencies, corporate organisations and other institutions to broaden access to its technology.

Businesses connected to the network could receive alerts about incidents that may affect their operations, allowing them to review transport routes, adjust logistics arrangements and take preventive measures, the company said.

The Acting Head of GLIC, Dr Omotola Ilesanmi, said timely information and technology were important to identifying risks and strengthening preparedness.

“Effective early warning depends on the timely identification of risks and the availability of reliable information to support informed decision-making,” Ilesanmi said.

Beyond the institutional partnership, Wahala App is promoting public participation through its Ambassadors Against Wahala programme, which encourages responsible incident reporting and safety awareness in workplaces, educational institutions, religious organisations and communities.

The company said its platform combines incident reporting, location-relevant alerts and emergency notifications with data-driven insights intended to help organisations strengthen security planning and operational resilience.

It added that its technology was designed to complement the work of government security agencies and emergency response institutions.
