The Indigenous Ethnic Youth Leaders of Nigeria (IEYLN), has felicitated a former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), on his 86 birthday.
IEYLN National Chairman, Gonet Nensok, in a statement yesterday said they were pleased to identified with “a man who has lived his life defending the cause of ethnic groups that made up an entity called Nigeria.”
Nensok described Danjama as a voice of the voiceless as a result of the role he played as a military giant in keeping the country united, which cannot be easily be forgotten.
He added that despite his age, he has continued to defend the cause of indigenous ethnic nationality of Nigeria.
“We are proud to identified with a man who has contributed in shaping the history of our dear country.
“A quintessential elder-statesman whose unwavering commitment and love for his country is reverberating in the minds of the younger generation.
“On behalf of Indigenous Youth Leaders of Nigeria, I want to heartily congratulate you the beacon of hope of Nigeria youths.
“Your humanitarian gesture to Nigerians through T.Y Danjuma Foundation is one in a million and I pray that may the good Lord bless your new age, and keep you in good health for the generation to come,” he said.
