…Milan begs Yellow Submarine to lower asking price for player
Villarreal CEO Fernando Roig Negueroles has spoken about the speculation surrounding Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze.
The Yellow Submarines could be in danger of losing out of their most promising talents.
As Chukwueze had an outstanding season with the minnows of La Liga, he could soon earn a move to a Premier League club.
With the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa, West Ham and Liverpool interested, Negueroles said on the matter: “It’s true that he’s excited to play for a big club in Europe or in the Premier League.
“If this option came up, we would sit down and negotiate it. But it will be necessary to see if any beneficial offer arrives for the three parties. In this case, no offer has yet arrived.”
Meanwhile, Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan have been forced to look into alternative targets for the right wing role given how much Villarreal want to sell Chukwueze, a report claims.
According to the latest update from Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky, the number one target for the right side remains Chukwueze but Villarreal are making things difficult despite the fact he only has a year left on his deal.
So far the LaLiga club have been asking for €40m to sell the Nigeria international. Negotiations are expected to try and lower the demands of the Yellow Submarine, but it may not be easy given the rumours of strong competition.
If Milan were priced out of a deal then the other names on the wish list are Reiss Nelson – whose contract with Arsenal is set to expire in just over a week – plus Jeremy Doku from Stade Rennais and Ismaila Sarr from Watford.
