On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Dr. Vera Chikezie-Oke, an American Board Certified Clinical Sexuality Coach, Master Sexpert, and relationship and marriage coach, popularly known as The Sex Evangelist, convened couples, professionals, faith communities, and thought leaders at Orchid Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, for her highly anticipated Intimacy and Sexual Wellness Festival. The landmark gathering served a dual purpose. It created a safe and empowering space for open, faith aligned, and medically sound conversations around sex, intimacy, conception, and maternal health. It also marked the official launch of her two new books, Sexy Preggy and From Virgin to Sexpert.

The first panel session brought together two young married couples, Mr. Tony and Mrs. Ruth Cookie, alongside Mr. Ovie and Mrs. Chiamaka Agbani. Moderated by actor and host Temitope Tanpe Aje, the discussion examined the realities of virginity and sexual history entering marriage.
Speaking from a Christian framework where sexual purity before marriage is upheld as a core value, the panel explored what happens when one or both partners have prior sexual experiences. The couples shared personal journeys on navigating expectations, healing from past encounters, managing anxiety, and building intimacy without comparison or performance pressure.
They spoke candidly about the nervousness that can accompany entering marriage as virgins, the internal pressure to perform, and the uncertainty around pleasure, connection, and vulnerability. By addressing subjects often discussed in hushed tones within Christian communities, the session encouraged transparency and intentional communication.
Both couples also acknowledged the role Dr. Vera played through pre-marital and marital sex counseling sessions, noting how her guidance equipped them with practical tools for comfort, connection, and sexual confidence within marriage.

Efosa Imamu, Registered Nurse and Midwife and Founder of Healthy Baby Bumps With Efe, spoke on maternal health, pregnancy support, and postpartum realities, emphasizing informed care and safe spaces for mothers.
Chibueze Obinwanne, Co Founder and Managing Director of The Milk Booster Limited, addressed breastfeeding support, the role of fathers, and the importance of partnership in early parenthood.
Holistic doctor Dr. Glory Iwunor, CEO of Holistic Health and Wellness Clinic Lagos and host of HEALTH MATA with Dr GLO, provided insights into mental health, anxiety, body image after childbirth, and holistic approaches to fertility and postpartum wellness.
Together, the panel dismantled outdated narratives, offered medically grounded guidance, and equipped couples with practical tools for maintaining intimacy through pregnancy and beyond.
