Big Brother Naija may have ended weeks ago, but the buzz surrounding some of its standout stars is still very much alive. This June, VL Magazine has placed three of the season’s most loved personalities; Vandora, BamBam, and Anto, on its cover in a stunning issue titled “The Trinity.”
The cover is already sparking conversations, not just because of the women it features, but because of the creativity behind the styling. The trio were dressed by OOBIUKU Clothing, a Lagos-based fashion label founded by designer Ozioma Obiuku. In less than a year since its launch, OOBIUKU has begun to establish itself as a brand that understands the modern Nigerian woman, bold, sophisticated, and unapologetically stylish.
For this shoot, each star brought her own energy to the camera, and OOBIUKU’s designs amplified that individuality. Vandora’s edgy personality was complemented by daring yet feminine couture; BamBam exuded grace in structured elegance; and Anto, known for her poise, embodied modern chic in her custom look. Together, the three women represented not just reality TV stardom, but the growing influence of Nigerian women in pop culture and fashion.
The collaboration was a celebration of Nigerian creativity across the board. The photography was captured by Olapictures, makeup artistry was by Annklair Makeup, and accessories were provided by Amarz Jewelry. Still, it was the finishing touches and couture detailing from OOBIUKU Clothing that tied the shoot together, giving it a refined yet youthful flair.
For designer Ozioma Obiuku, the opportunity to style three of Nigeria’s most-watched young women was both a challenge and a statement. “Fashion is storytelling,” she explained. “For me, it was about designing looks that spoke to who they are, while also showing the world the versatility of Nigerian couture.”
Anto donned a mono strap intricate detailed look featuring an embellished bustier showing glowing decolletage accessorized with a shimmery choker neckpiece and gold arm candies. She had her hair done in a glam chignon that framed her face perfectly. She also did a fashion forward contrasting print belted look paired with black long sleeve top and a blue beret look for the shoot leaving her hair down complete with soft natural makeup look.
Bambam chose a bardot floor length paint splash accented piece with thigh high slit details over strappy sandals and gold accessories complete with a gold crown and hair featuring tousled details. She got a sultry glowing makeup done with this look. She also worked a monochrome plaid tux dress accented with bold buttons paired with glossy visor beret complete with plum smokey eye makeup and nude lips for the playful theme she did.
Vandora chose a wrap floral dress with bubble sleeves with hair let down in soft wavy style. She completes the look with accessories in gold tones. Vandora did a fierce side slit detailed black bustier look featuring applique details paired with statement diamante neckpiece, leaving her hair in a side swept with indigo highlights sealing off the look with a soft natural looking makeup.
The VL Magazine cover has since become one of the most talked-about spreads of the season, widely shared on social media and celebrated for its elegance. It not only solidifies Vandora, BamBam, and Anto as style icons but also highlights OOBIUKU as one of the most promising new names in Nigerian fashion.
As Nigeria’s fashion industry continues to grow, collaborations like this prove just how interconnected the worlds of entertainment and fashion have become. For a young brand like OOBIUKU, moments like “The Trinity” cover demonstrate the power of fashion to capture the spirit of a cultural moment, and to propel both designers and celebrities into greater visibility.
