UTME: We are yet to release results of underage children — JAMB

JAMB updates CBT schedule nationwide ahead of 2026 UTME

From Fred Ezeh, Abuja

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said on Tuesday that it’s yet to release the result of underage candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, informed parents and the students that such could be reason result checks on JAMB system are showing “No result yet”.

He explained: “As stipulated by regulation, only candidates who will be, at least, 16 years old by 30th September 2026 are eligible to register for and sit the UTME.

“However, underage candidates may be considered under the exceptional category, provided they demonstrate outstanding ability by scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages.

“In line with the agreement reached and endorsed by parents of these underage candidates, only those who score 320 and above will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next stages of the screening.”

He stated that only successful candidates at that stage may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision. “But for now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased,” he said.
