Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) against any attempt to falsify their results.
It asked candidates to avoid such temptation even as it announced that results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the UTME on Thursday, being the first day has been released for viewing and not printing.
JAMB Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, on Saturday, disclosed that currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for engaging in result falsification using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool and other electronic means.

He said: “To this end, candidates are strongly cautioned against manipulating the SMS received from the official platform (55019/66019) to fabricate or alter scores with the intent to mislead others, including parents. Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence. The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity.”
He disclosed that JAMB had deployed advanced technology capable of detecting and apprehending offenders instantly, stressing that any candidate found culpable will face the full consequences of the law.
Meanwhile, JAMB maintained that the examination is still ongoing, and results would continue to be released as they become available.
