The People’s Republic of China has pledged support for the Nigerian government, expressing disapproval over US President Donald Trump’s threat of interference over the reported killing of Christians.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, who made this known on Tuesday, stated that the country opposes the use of religion as an excuse to interfere in a sovereign nation’s affairs.

“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions.
“China firmly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs, and threatening other countries with sanctions and force,” Ning stated.
