Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Abdolrahim Mousavi, has reportedly been killed following airstrikes launched by Israel and the United States.

State-owned Iran TV reports that Mousavi was killed alongside defence minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, revolutionary guards chief Mohammad Pakpour and Ali Shamkhani, head of Iran’s defence council, during the missile attack.

It was gathered that the Iranian officials were killed during a defence council meeting in a targeted operation focusing on 30 key Iranian regime leaders and military chiefs reportedly targeted in Saturday’s onslaught.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death was also confirmed on Sunday, with his daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law and son-in-law also killed in the military operation.

In an announcement, state broadcaster IRIB reported, “The Supreme Leader of Iran Has Reached Martyrdom.

“This great scholar and mujahid (fighter) sacrificed his life to lift Iran… and he is in the grand presence of martyrs above.”
