Unity over discord: Nasarawa PDP advocates peaceful coexistence after Supreme Court decision

From Abel Leonard, Lafia

Following the Supreme Court’s judgment, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State urges citizens to set aside the pain and trauma. The opposition party implores everyone to embrace peace, unity, and contribute to the state’s development.

The PDP, acknowledging the court’s decision, emphasises their commitment to abide by the Supreme Court’s verdict. The party, in a bid to foster harmony, encourages citizens to look forward to a future marked by unity and progress.

Chairman of the people’s Democratic party PDP in the state, Hon. Francis Orogu who stated this on Sunday in Lafia, asked the citizens to ignore what has happened but insisted that the residents must continue to live in peace and allow God take his position in the state.

“The governor of Nasarawa State AA SULE who was confirmed the governor by the power of the supreme court has also chosen to the power of the lower court to imprison the women for carrying out peaceful protest which is their constitutional right,” Orogu said

“This women were always praying to God in a manner that they subjected themselves to imprisonment sleeping outside at the secretariat of the party for nine months beaten by mosquitoes and stung by ants and other things.

“We had several malaria cases, at a point we try our best to feed them once in a day because the crowd was much we couldn’t have afforded anything more than that and they had the determination to take care of themselves, they stood here for nine months in reaction to what they believed is the right thing” Orogu explained.

“The governor felt he could use the lower court to imprison them again. People who have already imprisoned themselves for nine months in prayers he took them to jail and thought he could teach them any better lesson. let them remain in jail and pray again for justice for vengeance and as mothers, widows I believe God will grant them their heartfelt cry for justice in Nasarawa.”

“Whatever AA SULE is enjoying now through the forces of supreme court the most high. judgement will come when Christians and Muslims will all agree that impunity has it’s own reward not even in heaven but on earth.

“What governor Sule has forgotten is that even though he is the governor declared by the supreme court and not by the power of the highest God we have nothing to say”, the opposition PDP Chairman declared.

” I am sure the women will encourage themselves to continue praying against all kind of impunity and oppressions and you know this are women whether you like it or not, they have a special place in the heart of God especially widows.

Orogu who believed that what the women were going through were temporary adding that “In jail they have been history on how God answered prayer points from Christians who are pure in heart and I believe that whatever they are facing now is still temporary including what AA SULE is enjoying because as I said earlier the judgement of the most supreme judge our God who we all worship in different language in different understanding will take his own position as our leader.

“What we can do now is to appeal to the women to remain calm and ask other NGO’S who have something to do with any political party to look into this matter as women are been oppressed, female rights are been abused and widows are been mis handled for political interest and for power been allocated by supreme court.

“At this point I want to make it clear that not all this women are members of PDP some of them are even members of the ruling party APC. They decide to do want they are doing because that is what they believe is right or what they believed should have happened and today they are been massacred some of them in the hospital, some of them in the prison. Mothers, widows in a state like Nasarawa State highly flooded by religious leaders.

“We have given up because the supreme court said we should give up. Justice kekere appeal panel has asked us to give up but the country knows whether what justice kekere and his appeal panel has done is justice or not the whole country is aware but they are supreme and they have given supreme order and we must give supreme response and obey the order with good faith and beg all Nasarawa State citizens to ignore what has happened and insist on living in peace and allow God his position in the state.”
