The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) will be the host for the third edition of the National Youth Games (NYG). The sporting event has been scheduled for between September 7 and September 17, 2017.
According to the UNILORIN Bulletin issued on Monday in, the dates’ approval as well as venue approval were as a result of the university’s successful hosting of the second edition.
The second edition was held in 2016, with the first edition held in 2013 at Abuja.
The bulletin indicated that the 2017 edition of the Games was expected to provide opportunities for the selection of athletes who would represent the country at the World Youth Games.
It disclosed that a meeting was held between the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports and the management of University of Ilorin towards a successful harmonisation of all efforts towards the NYG. (NAN)
