A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar D. Duhu, has welcomed the return of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to the APC, describing the development as timely, strategic, and beneficial to both the party and the state.

Duhu noted that Governor Fintiri is not new to the APC, stressing that the governor was a founding member of the party, a fact he said many Nigerians are often unaware of.

According to him, Fintiri’s political journey and commitment to public service make his return to the APC a natural and progressive step.

Governor Fintiri has served Adamawa State in various capacities, including as a member and Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Acting Governor, and currently as a two-term elected governor. His administration, Duhu said, has been marked by people-oriented policies and sustainable development initiatives.

Among his achievements, Duhu highlighted “the empowerment cash support scheme for small-scale entrepreneurs launched in 2024, as well as major urban infrastructure projects that earned the governor the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) Governor of the Year Award.”

He described Governor Fintiri as a seasoned administrator whose experience, leadership qualities, and popularity would significantly strengthen the APC and reposition it for electoral success in Adamawa State.

“Governor Fintiri’s return to the APC will not only energise the party but also translate into tangible benefits for the people of Adamawa State in the areas of economic development, infrastructure, security, healthcare, and education,” Duhu said.

While acknowledging that political interests may be affected by the development, Duhu urged party members and stakeholders to place the collective interest of the state above personal considerations, adding that the move is ultimately for the general good of Adamawa State.
