The University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), Lagos Branch, is gearing up for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections, scheduled to be held on Sunday, 21 December 2025.

The AGM will take place at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Club, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, at 3 pm.

The event is expected to be a significant milestone in the association’s calendar, as members will gather to elect new leaders who will steer the association forward.

The positions up for election include chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, and other key executive roles. These also comprise first and second assistant secretaries, publicity secretary, assistant publicity secretary, financial secretary, social and welfare secretary, and assistant social and welfare secretary.

The remaining positions are legal adviser and four ex-officio members.

According to a notice from the association, to be eligible to vote and contest, members must be financially active, have participated in branch meetings and major activities, and submitted a brief manifesto.

The election is expected to be a keenly contested affair, with some members vying for the top positions.

The UIAA Lagos Branch has been a driving force in promoting the interests of University of Ibadan graduates and fostering a sense of community among alumni.

The incoming leadership will have a critical role to play in shaping the association’s future.

The AGM and elections, according to the organisers, will provide an avenue for members of the UIAA to come together, share ideas, and chart a way forward for the association.
