Ugochinyere hails Abbas, others over speedy passage of 2024 budget

The member of the House of Representatives, representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, has hailed the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and the House Committee Chairman on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi, over speedy passage of 2024 a
Appropriation Bill.

Ugochinyere, who is also the Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), told journalists that Bichi’s competence, team spirit and all-inclusive leadership capacity made the passage of 2024 Appropriation Bill seamless.

Both chambers of the National Assembly had at special sessions on Saturday passed the 2024 budget, which was presented to the parliament by President Bola Tinubu on November 29.

The lawmaker stated that members of the House are are impressed with the way Bichi handled the Appropriation Bill, stating that the Appropriation Committee chairman has earned the confidence of his colleague’s.

Ugochinyere expressed optimism that Bichi will sustain the tempo set by the 9th House of Representatives on ending delay in annual budget passage, adding that the lawmakers will carry-out their oversight function on Ministries Department and Agencies of government to ensure that budgetary allocation are well utilised.
