United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has said that the delay in publishing its 2024 Audited Half-Year Financial Statements is due to the ongoing review and approval process by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
This was contained in a statement filed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) by the Group’s Company Secretary/Legal Counsel, Bili Odum. According to the statement, “We inform the NGX, our shareholders and the general public that the 2024 Audited Half Year Financial Statements, of United Bank for Africa Plc (the Bank), submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is undergoing the required review and approval process.
Consequently, the Bank is yet to publish its Audited Financial Statements on the NGX portal. The Audited Financial Statements will be published upon receipt of the CBN’s approval.
“In continuing compliance with the post listing requirements of NGX for quoted companies, the Bank hereby declares that the Closed Period for trading in the Bank’s shares would subsist until 24 hours after the Audited Half Year Financial Statements and Reports for the half year ended June 30, 2024 is released to the public.”
It added that the Bank had sought and obtained the approval to NGX Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo) to file the accounts beyond the regulatory due date.
