Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, are set for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Senegal, with coach Moses Aduku naming Bayelsa Queens forward Janet Akekoromowei, Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Joy Igbokwe, and 24 other players, www.aclsports.com reports.

The squad, released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is made up mainly of players from the Nigeria Women Football League, with Shakirat Abidemi Moshood among several players promoted from the under-17 side.

Nigeria will host Senegal at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Saturday, 7 February, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00. The return leg is set for Saturday, 14 February, at Stade Lat-Dior in Thiès, Dakar, Senegal.

The Falconets arrived in Abeokuta on Tuesday morning from Ibadan, where the match had initially been scheduled. Ahead of their clash with Senegal, Aduku led the girls to a 2–1 friendly victory against Robo Queens.

The winner of the Nigeria–Senegal tie will advance to the final round of African qualifying to face the winner of Guinea-Bissau vs. Malawi, competing for one of Africa’s four spots at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
