Tunji-Ojo breaks record, wins second term with massive votes

APC member representing Akoko North East/North West federal constituency of Ondo State, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has been re-elected with a total of 51,539 votes, which translates to 84.5% of the valid votes cast in the election. 

Meanwhile, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), came a distant second with 9,014 votes, which translates to 14.8% of the total valid votes cast in the election. 

This is however the very first time in the political history of Akoko North East/North West federal constituency that any candidate would win a second term election with such unprecedented total number of votes and a landslide margin of 84.5% to a paltry 14.8%.
