As a web designer, you might already be familiar with HTML, CSS, and perhaps JavaScript. As for me, I started with Asp.Net and C# which helped me understand the concept of object-oriented programming.

Learn Software Development Principles

Software engineering is not just about coding it’s about solving problems in a structured and methodical way. Learn about software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum, widely used in the industry. Understanding these principles will help you manage projects and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Additionally, familiarize yourself with version control systems like Git. These tools are essential for managing changes to a project without overwriting any part of the software.
Build Your Own Projects

There is no substitute for hands-on experience. Start small by building simple applications or tools that interest you. Gradually increase the complexity of your projects to include databases, API integrations, and more advanced algorithms.
