Transfer: Chelsea to sign £50m player from Premier League rivals

MURILLO

By Seyi Babalola

Chelsea have made a bid to sign £50 million Nottingham Forest defender, Murillo for their new manager, Enzo Maresca.

Following Thiago Silva’s departure, the Premier West London team is looking for a new centre defender.

The Blues have previously made a move for Boca Juniors’ highly regarded defender Aaron Anselmino.

However, Chelsea is also searching for a defender who can instantly compete for a first-team spot, and Murillo fits the bill following a successful debut season at Nottingham Forest.

According to Brazilian newspaper UOL, Chelsea has approached Nottingham Forest to negotiate a transfer for Murillo.

However, Forest are asking a £50 million sum for the 21-year-old centre defender.

According to the report, Chelsea has warned Forest that they will not match their value and are considering providing two players to balance the transfer money.
