Tragedy was averted on Monday when a diesel-laden tanker fell on the Liverpool Bridge, outward Apapa, Tin Can Island area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the fall of the 45,000-litre capacity tanker caused panic in the area.

Emergency and security personnel quickly mobilised to the scene to prevent breakdown of law and order.

In a situation report obtained by Daily Sun at 11:54 am, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said its personnel were currently engaged in salvage operations at the scene of the incident.

“The tanker has been saved from secondary incident while security agents are doing their best to curtail the scooping crowd,” the service said.
