The Turkish press has informed that Super Lig side Trabzonspor is closing in on Southampton Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu.
The Super Eagles ace has been linked with a return to the Super Lig side throughout this transfer window and the club is reportedly keen to re-sign for them.
Karadenizde Sonnokta have reported on the latest developments regarding Onuachu’s future at Southampton and said that Trabzonspor is in the final stages to sign the 30-year-old.
In recent weeks Southampton has reportedly been holding out for €10m, but with the player looking surplus to requirements at St Mary’s, the club might now accept Trabzonspor’s offer of €7m, plus add-ons.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Trabzonspor is confident it can get a deal over the line for Onuachu and expecting a positive response from the Saints in the coming days.
Trabzonspor still have the advantage that the Super Lig transfer window only closes in just over two weeks and subsequently isn’t under pressure to get a deal done before Friday.
He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2026.
