The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Orcivirigh (Prof) James Ayatse, has sued for mutual understanding and cooperation among National Assembly members of Tiv extraction to enable them achieve the purpose for which they were elected.
He stressed that God has favoured Tiv nation with key appointments in the Bola Tinubu’s administration and it was only through unity that they can actualise their aspirations for the land.
The Tor Tiv gave this charge in his palace in Gboko when he received a member of the National Assembly representing Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Terseer Ugbor.
A statement by the Special Assistant to Tor Tiv on Media and ICT, Freddie Adamgbe, said Ugbor was accompanied on the visit by the traditional rulers from Kwande Intermediate Area led by the Tor Kwande, Ambrose Pinne Iyortyer.
The Tor Tiv urged Ugbor to sustain his determination to attract dividends of democracy to his constituents and urged him to unite with his brothers at the assembly for more dividends.
Orchivirigh Ayatse lauded his leadership qualities and good intentions which has earned him special recognition and membership of key standing committees in the National Assembly promising to synergize with him to achieve more.
Earlier, Terseer Ugbor told the Tor Tiv who he represents in the National Assembly of his contributions to the development of his constituency.
He told the Tor Tiv of the construction of a bridge at River Amine and stepping down of electricity in Achia, the facilitation of the establishment of a Forestry Research Centre and an Agro Processing Institute (Incubator Processing Centre) adding that he has earmarked many other projects to be executed across Kwande/Ushongo Federal constituency which are fully covered in the 2024 Federal Government budget.
Ugbor, pioneer Chairman House Standing Committee on Student Loans and currently Deputy Chairman House Committee on Environment, commended the role the Tor Tiv played in the restoration of peace, unity and the development of Nigeria as a whole and vowed to remain loyal to the throne of the Tiv nation as it’s son.
While presenting Ugbor to the Tor Tiv, Tor Kwande HRH Ambrose Iyortyev said Ugbor has much respect to his fathers the traditional rulers as demonstrated by his decision to invite them to accompany him to see the Begha u Tiv disclosing further that Ugbor consults them before embarking on his projects in his constituency.
