The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Friday highlighted the transformative power of education for Nigerian children in a message on the International Day of Education,
She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality education, emphasising the strides made under her husband, President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
This year’s theme, “AI and Education: Human Agency in an Automated World,” she said resonated deeply with her as she acknowledged the growing role of artificial intelligence in education.
She noted that while AI can enhance learning experiences, it is essential to maintain a balance between technology and human interaction. “AI should empower critical thinking and creativity, not replace the irreplaceable human touch,” she stated.
Mrs Tinubu called for collaborative efforts among educators and policymakers to develop inclusive curricula that integrate AI literacy with core human values. She stressed that such initiatives are vital for creating opportunities for all children to thrive.
Mrs Tinubu urged all stakeholders to unite in advocating for an educational system that not only prepares children academically but also fosters compassion and understanding.
“Let us work together to create a world where every child has the opportunity to succeed,” she said.
