Tinubu’s certificates spark heated exchange between ADC, APC

Fresh controversy over President Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials dominated discussions on Politics Today on Channels Television as representatives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed over allegations surrounding the President’s educational records.

Speaking during the programme, lawyer and ADC member, Kalu Kalu, maintained that no court had delivered a judgment on the merits of allegations of forgery or perjury against Tinubu.

“There is no judgement of court anywhere in Nigeria, even outside the shores of Nigeria, that has decided on the merit of the issue of the alleged forgery and perjury by Ahmed Tinubu,” Kalu said.

He challenged the President to publicly present his academic certificates if the allegations were indeed false.

“If the President says it’s an accusation, let him come out and tell Nigerians, ‘This is my primary school certificate. This is my secondary school certificate,'” he added.

During the interview, programme host Seun Okinbaloye also questioned former APC National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala (SAN), about Tinubu’s educational background.

Responding, Ogala declined to provide details, saying the President would address such questions himself.

“The President will answer your questions when you ask him,” Ogala said.

When pressed further about Tinubu’s work history before becoming a senator and later governor of Lagos State, Ogala dismissed the opposition’s claims as politically motivated.

“The opposition wants to win votes, so they will cook up all kinds of stories,” he stated.

The exchange comes amid renewed political debates over President Tinubu’s academic records as opposition parties continue to question aspects of his educational background ahead of the 2027 general election.
