From Kenneth Udeh, Abuja
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has announced a new national communication drive aimed at correcting what he described as “gaps in public awareness” around President Bola Tinubu’s achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking in Abuja after a strategy meeting with the state Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Uzodimma said the group had been created to ensure Nigerians receive accurate, timely, and coordinated updates on the administration’s progress—much of which he argued had not been effectively showcased.
Uzodimma, recently appointed by President Tinubu as the Renewed Hope Ambassador, said many Nigerians were unaware of the depth of reforms and improvements already recorded because “messaging has not matched accomplishments.”
“The whole idea is to identify the progress, achievements, and successes already recorded by the Tinubu administration and ensure citizens are aware of them,” he told reporters.
According to him, several major policy gains—including economic recovery efforts and political stabilisation—have not been adequately communicated, creating space for misinformation.
“It became clear that because of gaps in message dissemination, some people are not aware of the many accomplishments under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including the President’s efforts in recovering the national economy. The President has also stabilised the political space,” he said.
Uzodimma highlighted one of the administration’s most significant yet underreported achievements: the sharp rise in federal allocations to states.
“For instance, state governments are now receiving three times more funding than they did before 2023. With this increased funding, states and local governments can now undertake meaningful development. When sub-nationals develop, Nigeria automatically develops,” he said.
He stressed that this improvement is not a campaign message but evidence of deep governance reforms.

“This is about acknowledging that a leader came, saw, and brought to the table solutions we have sought for over 40 years,” he added.
Uzodimma said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will operate as a nationwide platform dedicated to explaining policies, highlighting successes, and bridging the communication gaps between government and citizens.
He said the group intends to deploy strategic coordination across all party structures and non-political stakeholders to ensure accurate information reaches households, communities, and institutions.
“We are excited to be the apostles of this administration, taking this message of hope to the people so that every Nigerian can have their hope renewed,” he said.
On Insecurity: ‘Some Politicians Are Orchestrating Crisis’
Turning to security challenges, Uzodimma alleged that some actors were attempting to manufacture a “synchronised national crisis” for political purposes.
“Attacking schools and churches is a bad style of politics. We condemn such politics and assure the President that all 36 governors stand united behind him in restoring normalcy,” he said.
He urged citizens to reject what he called “orchestrated insecurity” and defend the national interest.
“It is not about the President or any individual. It is about our collective destiny. We need cohesion. We need peace. Nigeria must lead, and Africa will follow,” Uzodimma said.
