President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Nigerian women’s basketball team, D’Tigress on their remarkable achievement of becoming five-time consecutive champions of Africa and securing their seventh overall title.
The Nigerian girls defeated Mali 78-64 in the final of the competition at the Palais Des Sports Treichville on Sunday night.
In a post via his verified X handle @OfficialABAT, President Tinubu praised the team’s “superb performance” and extended his commendations to Coach Rena and the entire squad for their dedication and success. “You did it, girls! You have made Nigeria proud,” he said, expressing his eagerness to welcome the team back home alongside the championship trophy.
The President’s message, tagged with the triumphant hashtag #MissionV – Done & Dusted, celebrates the continued dominance of Nigeria in African women’s basketball, highlighting the team’s extraordinary consistency and excellence on the continent.
President Tinubu concluded with an encouraging note, “I am expecting you all, along with the trophy,” signaling strong support and recognition from the nation’s leadership.
