President Bola Tinubu has charged the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, to sustain his efforts towards strengthening the party’s unity and advancing policies capable of delivering meaningful social impact.
Tinubu gave the commendation in a birthday message to Yilwatda, who turned a year older on Saturday, August 8, describing the APC chairman as a distinguished academic, technocrat and committed party leader whose intellectual depth and experience had continued to add value to the administration of the ruling party, according to a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The President particularly highlighted Yilwatda’s commitment to the underserved, noting that his initiatives in advancing sustainable development and social impact were worthy of recognition.
According to Tinubu, the APC chairman’s leadership comes at a critical period as the party continues to consolidate its organisational structures and strengthen its position as a platform for national development and democratic governance.
“Professor Yilwatda is a passionate advocate for the underserved. I particularly commend his initiatives in advancing policies that drive sustainable development and social impact,” the President said.
Tinubu also commended Yilwatda for his dedication, discipline and steadfast commitment to the ideals of the APC, saying his contributions had helped promote the party’s shared vision under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The President said the APC chairman’s efforts towards fostering unity among party members were particularly important in strengthening the party’s capacity to provide effective political leadership.
“As you celebrate today, I commend your services to our great party and our nation. Your contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress and your commitment to democratic values are worthy of recognition and commendation,” Tinubu said.
Yilwatda, a professor and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, became national chairman of the APC amid efforts to strengthen the party’s structures and deepen cohesion among its members.
Tinubu prayed that God would grant the APC chairman more years in good health, wisdom and renewed strength to continue serving the party and the nation.
“I pray that Almighty God grant you more years in good health, wisdom and renewed strength to continue to serve humanity,” he said.
