President Bola Tinubu on Sunday received the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, in a private visit at the State House, Abuja, as part of ongoing engagements with traditional and religious leaders across the country.

The closed-door meeting, which lasted about 20 minutes, took place just six days after President Tinubu hosted traditional and faith leaders for an interfaith Ramadan–Lenten fast-breaking dinner at the Villa.

The Sultan, who also serves as President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), was represented at Iftar dinner by the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
Details of the discussions were not disclosed as of press time.

The visit comes amid a series of high-level consultations between the President and prominent national figures, particularly elder statesmen, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.

Within the past 10 days, President Tinubu has held separate meetings with former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), and former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (retd.).

Gowon, who met with journalists following his audience with the President on Saturday, expressed satisfaction with the administration’s performance, commending its efforts across political, economic, and security sectors.
