President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha’s tenure as Minister of State for Labour and Employment, saying it brought stability and calm to his administration.

Onyejeocha resigned from the Federal Executive Council penultimate week in response to the president’s directive to all political appointees seeking elective positions in 2027 to resign.

President Tinubu made the commendation at Isuochi, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, during a civic reception organised for Onyejeocha by her people.

Represented by the National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the president noted that Onyejeocha’s tenure in the Labour and Employment Ministry brought stability and administrative calm.

President Tinubu used the occasion to assure party supporters of a transparent and credible primary election process at the party primaries coming up soon.

He said candidates would emerge strictly through the will of party members without imposition.

In her speech, Onyejeocha expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu, describing her ministerial appointment as a turning point that expanded development opportunities for her area.

The former Minister said federal intervention helped to successfully address a major erosion challenge in Isuikwuato.

She explained that the project followed an urgent request she presented on the floor of the House and subsequently submitted to the relevant federal agency during her tenure as the lawmaker representing the Isuikwuato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
