President Bola Tinubu has congratulated immediate past Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and governorship aspirant in Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as he clocks 60.
President Tinubu, in a statement by his spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, yesterday, described the Osun governorship hopeful as a steady hand in Nigeria’s financial and political landscape, noting that his leadership, intellect and integrity have remained invaluable to the development of Osun State and the nation at large.
He also acknowledged AMBO’s contributions to the banking sector, where he built a reputation for professionalism and excellence, noting that his outstanding service in public administration as Commissioner in Osun State and until recently, chief executive of NIWA, were marked by humility, hard work, and commitment to public good.
“Oyebamiji is a loyal party man, a trusted associate, and a patriotic Nigerian whose exemplary work and ethic reflect the ideals of responsible leadership. “As you mark this milestone age, I pray that Almighty Allah grants you more years in good health, renewed strength, and greater service to Nigeria”, the president said.
Meanwhile, friends of Oyebamiji, have advised other contestants to allow consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary. A former member of the state House of Assembly, Debo Kamorudeen, who spoke to journalists during the 60th birthday of Oyebamiji, noted that all the party stalwarts are behind him.
“I want to advise all other aspirants to see the man in Oyebamiji and to let him be the sole candidate of the party. “We are fully prepared for the primary because we know for sure that he will emerge. We don’t have any fear.
“Of all the aspirants, he is the most vibrant. All of us are with him. He is the man that can take Osun to greater heights. All those who have passed through the state executive, house of assembly and national assembly are solidly behind him.

“We are happy today because we believe that by this time of next year, he will be celebrating as a governor-elect of Osun state.
“Definitely the celebration next year will be in the government house or rather greater than what we are celebrating today. We pray for him to overcome the hurdle and win the primary and the election slated for the 8th of August 2026,” Kamorudeen added.
Also, former member of House of Representatives, Taiwo Oluga, expressed confidence that Oyebamiji will emerge as the party’s candidate and emerge governor of Osun state.
She explained that the prayer for Oyebamiji on his 60th birthday was organised by his team because the celebrant believes in prayer, hence the reason he is in Holy land.
“We work and pray to get to the promised land that we are looking at from August 8, 2026. He is in the Holy land while we are here praying for him because he believes in prayer.
“We can see the hand of God in this project and we are thanking God. We are not only celebrating his birthday, we are also praying for the victory ahead.
“We are confident that the APC will win the governorship in 2026 and our governor by the special grace of God is Bola Oyebamiji,” Oluga said.
