President Bola Tinubu has showered praise on Alhaja Lateefat Olufunke Gbajabiamila, the 96-year-old mother of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, marking her birthday with tributes to her enduring legacy in community service, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.

In a State House statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu celebrated the nonagenarian’s “resilience, industry, and remarkable life dedicated to the service of God and humanity.” He highlighted her pioneering role as the first female elected local government chairperson in Lagos State, noting her profound contributions to community development across Lagos and Nigeria at large.

A United Kingdom-trained nurse, Mama Gbajabiamila emerged as a healthcare role model, leveraging her expertise and resources to mentor generations in the profession, the President added.

Tinubu prayed for her continued vitality, stating, “Almighty God will continue to keep Mama Gbajabiamila in good health and strength, so that she may continue her good work.”
