President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, on the loss of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who died in Cairo on Friday.
President Tinubu described the deceased as a mother who lived a remarkable life and raised children and grandchildren who have contributed greatly to our nation.
“Losing a mother is a pain unlike any other. I know that no words can fully ease your sorrow, but I pray that the memories of her love, wisdom, and guidance bring you comfort in the days ahead. I also hope you find strength in the remarkable life she lived and the values she instilled in the entire family,” the president said.
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, also expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the deceased.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday, Governor Yusuf described the loss as painful, noting that the death of a mother is a profound loss that leaves a lasting void.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Mallam El-Rufai, his family, and the people of Kaduna State over the sad incident.
The governor prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Governor Yusuf also urged the bereaved family to take solace in the exemplary life lived by the deceased and her contributions to society.
