Tinubu celebrates Igbinedion at 90, honours his contributions to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin, as he marks his 90th birthday on September 11, 2024.
In a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President lauded Igbinedion for his remarkable achievements as a businessman, philanthropist and advocate for education and community development.
Tinubu highlighted Igbinedion’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s economy, particularly through his leadership of the Igbinedion Group, which operates in diverse sectors, such as oil and gas, construction and hospitality.
The President also commended Igbinedion for founding Igbinedion University, Nigeria’s first privately owned university, emphasising his commitment to quality education and academic excellence.
Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices made by patriots like Igbinedion, stating that Nigeria is better for their dedication to national progress.
He joined the Oba of Benin, the people of Bini Kingdom, family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating Igbinedion’s legacy, hoping it continues to inspire future generations.
