President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of four permanent secretaries in a strategic move aimed at strengthening the operations of the Civil Service and enhancing service delivery across key ministries.
This decision is part of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on improving operational efficiency and fostering innovation within the civil service.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, described the redeployment as a routine administrative process designed to reinvigorate the civil service by leveraging the expertise of senior officials in critical sectors.
She urged the affected Permanent Secretaries to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new roles, ensuring seamless service delivery and sustained progress.
Among the redeployments, Mary Ogbe has been transferred from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development, where she will understudy the Permanent Secretary scheduled to retire on May 7, 2025.
Faruk Yabo has been moved from the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
Emeka Obi has been reassigned from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, while Ogbodo Nnam, has been transferred from the Special Duties Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
In a statement by Director, Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, all handover and takeover processes are expected to be completed by May 2, 2025.
She said the Federal Government remains committed to building a world-class civil service that drives national development and upholds the highest standards of professionalism.
