President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the new Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), effective April 16, 2026.
The four-year tenure, announced via a press release from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and signed by Head of Information and Public Relations, Chris Ugwuegbulam, aligns with Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.
Zuntu, a seasoned public health professional and policy strategist, brings a proven track record in spearheading impactful national programmes.

The NBMA regulates biosafety and biotechnology activities in Nigeria, ensuring safe handling of genetically modified organisms and related technologies amid growing agricultural and health innovations.
