The 79th Board of Trustees meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) turned sour on Wednesday after a fight broke out between National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s loyalists and followers of his challenger, Hon. Sunday Udo-Okoye.

Daily Sun reported that Udo-Okoye was assaulted at the PDP secretariat in Abuja after Anyanwu’s loyalists insisted he leave, saying he was not a board member.

It was gathered that one of Anyanwu’s aides, Emmanuel Okoronkwo manhandled Udo-Okoye and physically removed him from the hall.

Udo-Okoye then called on his supporters outside and some of them scaled the Secretariat fence to force their principal back into the hall.

However, they were prevented from doing so by armed security operatives on the premises.

The uproar was temporarily contained by the operatives and the 79th BoT meeting continued.
