The Sun man wins NMMA Cartoonist of the Year award

The Sun newspapers stood to be counted on Sunday at the Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA) as one of its cartoonists emerged winner.
In the cartoon category, Deputy Cartoon Editor, Mr. Gabriel Erapi, clinched the trophy as Cartoonist of the Year.
Erapi defeated Azeez Odi Sanni and Leke Moses of The Nation to clinch the award.
Chairman of NMMA’s Panel of Assessors, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, said a total of 894 entries were received, with more than 700 from the print category.
He said the quality of many of the entries were poor and far below what was expected of national newspapers.
