A food processing and packaging company, Tetra Pak, has introduced a new digital platform known as Tetra Pak Factory OS, a next-generation automation and digitalisation system, designed to make food and beverage factories ready for artificial intelligence (AI) integration.
The new technology suite, unveiled at the Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition in Dubai, features modular, open and scalable smart factory solutions aimed at transforming food and beverage production through real-time insights for faster and smarter decision-making.
According to a recent study, highly automated beverage plants record 20 per cent higher equipment effectiveness, 45 per cent lower product waste, and 20 per cent fewer packaging line stoppages than their less automated counterparts.
However, many producers still face challenges in adopting such systems due to a lack of digital expertise and limited access to comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.
Tetra Pak said its newly launched Factory OS bridges the gap by combining advanced digital tools with its extensive industry experience to help manufacturers address rising costs, sustainability targets, and the shift toward AI-powered operations.
Speaking on the launch, Vice President, Automation and Solutions at Tetra Pak, Sean Sims, said: “Food and beverage producers, today, face tremendous pressure to deliver more with fewer resources—less water, less energy, less waste—while maintaining quality and reducing costs.
Our next-generation portfolio transforms complexity into clarity. By combining contextualised data – the foundation of effective AI adoption—with high-performing automation, Factory OS gives producers the confidence to act decisively in an increasingly volatile market.”

At the centre of Factory OS is a data integration platform built on open technologies, analytics, and industry standards. The platform connects all equipment and systems across the factory, turning fragmented data into a unified, real-time view of operations.
This, the company explained, allows producers to maintain consistent product quality, enhance efficiency, reduce resource usage, and lower operating costs.
Executive Vice President, Processing Solutions and Equipment at Tetra Pak, Charles Brand, described the initiative as a “bold step into the future of manufacturing.” “Tetra Pak Factory OS is more than a technology portfolio—it embodies our vision for the next decade and beyond. It enables producers to build the factory of the future, where resilience, efficiency, and sustainability work hand in hand,” he said.
Developed in collaboration with Accenture, and supported by global technology partners including Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and Inductive Automation, the Factory OS offers a flexible and scalable framework that allows producers to automate at their own pace—starting small and expanding as needed.
Other key features include standardised data collection across all equipment, regardless of brand or age, a unified user interface across production lines and control rooms, and digital tools for real-time monitoring of materials, quality, and equipment performance.
Tetra Pak said the Factory OS is now available globally.
