Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered a review of security arrangements across the state following alleged plots by terrorists to attack places of worship.
The governor also placed residents, particularly those in border communities, on alert, urging them to immediately report suspicious persons and unusual movements to security agencies.
Adeleke, who is on vacation in Europe, gave the directives in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, yesterday.
He said community intelligence remained critical to frustrating possible attacks and disclosed that he would convene a meeting of the State Security Council on his return to assess the situation and strengthen the state’s security strategy.
“We must provide the police and other security agencies with timely intelligence on any noticeable threats in our communities.

“Given the alleged plots targeting our places of worship, we must remain extra vigilant and report anything unusual without delay.”
Adeleke commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for what he described as proactive measures and directed other security agencies to review their operational strategies to safeguard lives and property.
He also urged traditional rulers to convene local security meetings and mobilise their communities to identify unfamiliar persons and suspicious activities within their domains.
Adeleke assured residents that the state government would work with security agencies to thwart any attempt by terrorists or bandits to breach the peace.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state, saying the government would deploy available resources to prevent any attempt to disrupt public order.
