There is palpable tension among some stakeholders in Delta State following suspicion of missing original result sheets in four local government areas of the state ahead of Saturday’s governorship and state House of Assembly elections.
An inside source told our correspondent that the suspected missing result sheets which were for unnamed councils in Delta South senatorial district were discovered during sorting of materials at the Asaba office of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Monday morning.
The source fingered officials of one of the political parties as the brain behind the missing result sheets, adding that the stolen sheets were intended to write fraudulent election results on Saturday.
