Tell Etiebet to stop blackmailing me  -Akpabio cries out to Afe Annang

Minister-of-Niger-Delta-Affairs-Sen.-Godswill-Akpabio

The former governor of Akwa Ibom state and All Progresssives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom Northwest, Senator Godswill Akpabio has cried out to Afe Annang, the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Annang ethnic group to appeal to Chief Don Etiebet and other prominent Annang persons to stop blackmailing  him.

Akpabio who made the appeal  on Thursday during a meeting with the Afe Annang,

accused some prominent Annang sons of leading campaigns of calumny against him.

He urged the body to call a former petroleum minister, Chief Don Etiebet and his Peoples Democratic Party opponent, Emmanuel Enoidem to order.

The former minister for Niger Delta Affairs accused Etiebet and Enoidem of ingratitude and spewing acrimony among people of the senatorial district with the intention of de-marketing him ahead of the National Assembly election on Saturday.

Akpabio, however, enthused that he was sure of winning the Akwa Ibom Northwest election because of his achievements as former governor and in all positions he has occupied.

“Even his community I gave them the water, the town hall he called for the meeting, I built it and you say that you are a leader, you couldn’t do anything for your people. Even the university, the Ritman University I gave him the contract.

“You should begin to advise some of your elders. I don’t need your endorsement, I need the endorsement of the people.

“Ingratitude is a sin before God and for someone to open his mouth to say that I didn’t work for you but you stepped out from the air-conditioned office that Godswill Akpabio gave you, you stepped out from air conditioned house that Godswill Akpabio assisted you to build, you stepped out from air-conditioned car Godswill Akpabio assisted you to buy, yet you open your mouth to say, I only worked for government of Akwa Ibom and not Godswill Akpabio.

“You resorted to blackmail, attack. The Bible says whoever pays evil for good, evil shall never depart from him.

*You were the minister of petroleum, tell me one local government you empowered or established NNPC, you did nothing and you call yourself a leader”, he said.

Akpabio urged the Afe Annang to be apolitical, adding that he was not seeking their votes as he was sure sure the people of Akwa Ibom Northwest would elect him.
