In an effort to revolutionise education in Nigeria, indigenous technology company, Bildup AI, has unveiled plans to empower 10 million Nigerian students with Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills over the next five years.

The Chief Executive Officer of Bildup AI, Chibuike Aguene, who disclosed this initiative yesterday, said the company is also spearheading the “AI in Every Classroom” campaign, an ambitious programme aimed at integrating AI-driven learning into Nigeria’s education system.

“This initiative presents an extraordinary opportunity for school proprietors, state ministries of education, parents, and policymakers to unite in reshaping education across Nigeria,” Aguene said. “By embracing Bildup AI, stakeholders can help ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality learning without barriers.”

According to him, the initiative has already taken off, with a private school in Enugu becoming the first to adopt the platform.

Aguene emphasised the company’s belief in the transformative potential of Nigeria’s youth: “We believe Nigeria’s young minds have the potential to shape the future with groundbreaking innovations. AI gives us the opportunity to remove barriers and provide every child with equal access to quality education.”

To accelerate the adoption of AI in schools, Bildup AI has committed N500 million over the next 12 months to support integration efforts nationwide. “Additionally, we will be investing heavily in research and development to expand Bildup AI’s capabilities—ensuring it covers all subjects with greater local context and global relevance, positioning Nigeria as a model for the future of learning,” he added.

Highlighting the practical benefits for educators, Aguene noted that AI integration could significantly enhance teaching efficiency. “With AI, teachers will reclaim up to 80% of their time, enabling them to focus on mentorship, critical thinking, and deeper engagement with students. The platform provides intelligent feedback on each student, helping teachers tailor their approach based on individual learning needs,” he explained.

With this initiative, Bildup AI aims to bridge the digital divide in education, foster innovation, and place Nigerian students at the forefront of the global digital economy.
