A tech company, FOUND Africa Technology, in partnership with the digital technology giant, Google, and Oyo State Government, has begun training for 20,000 youth in the state to acquire digital skills within 24 months.
Chief Executive Officer and Founder of FOUND Africa Technology, Mr. Olajide Aboderin, made the disclosure in an interview with journalists following the launch of ‘Workspace Happy Hour’ series by his company, in collaboration with Cafe One in Ibadan. Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Moshope Adebayo Akande, was in attendance.
Aboderin explained that the tech-company went into partnership with critical stakeholders in order to reduce unemployment in the country through innovative solutions and giving of digital skills to the youth, across Nigeria, starting from Oyo State. He added that the company plans to make Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the next Silicon Valley of Africa. According to Aboderin, as a trusted partner of Google, FOUND NG would utilise its relationship with the tech giant to promote the use of Google Workspace, a comprehensive suite of cloud-based tools that streamline productivity, foster collaboration, and facilitate effective communication and document management. The tech company, he stated further, is in talks with the Oyo State Government for a partnership for the ongoing training of 20,000 youth in the state to acquire digital skills. He added that the training programme is geared towards equipping small and medium business owners, as well as individuals, with essential tools to enhance productivity and improve business processes.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Moshope Adebayo Akande, commended FOUND NG for the initiative and commitment to the growth and development of both the youth and the government.
