The member representing Bali/Gassol Federal constituency in Taraba State Honourable Ja’afaru Yakubu, has said that the negligence his constituents suffered in the past has prompted him to go extra mile to provide dividends of democracy to them.
Yakubu who disclose this while interacting with journalists in Jalingo said that, government presence was too rare prior to his coming to occupy the position and that prompted him to even go into the contest in the first place.
He highlight some of his achievements to include education support for undergraduates, training of Six constituents in China and road constructions.
“You see, some of us decided to represent the people, not for our own personal interest, but to change the narrative for good. Before I came on board, the lack of government presence was just alarming.
“By the grace of God, we have been able to turn things around to a very large extent. We have trained and empowered over 500 women, provided ICT training and laptops to 60 youths, distributed 250 sewing machines to and several water projects.
“We have also provided solar street lights, provided 33kva transformer, provision of multiple water projects, donation of 4 engine boats and several motorcycles and interventions in some of the PHCCs in the constituency”.
He said that he has also been able to consistently provide food items and wrappers to constituents during festive periods and several other interventions.
