- Took A Swipe At Fake Prophesies By Men Of God

The national President, Committee For Defence Of Human Rights (CDHR), Comrade (Dr) Prince Kehinde Taiga, has congratulated Delta state Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his victory at the Supreme Court, describing it as a clear testimony that God ordained him to governed the state.
He however decried fake prophecies by perceived men of God who often deceived politicians to take legal action to reclaim their mandate based in false revelations that they could secure victory in courts even when they do not have strong case to present before the judges on their claims.
Extending his congratulatory message to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri, CDHR President, noted that having won all 38 court cases both in Pre and Post election matters, it is evident that God and not any man must take glory for the Governor’s victory.
According to him; “it had been a turbulent battle even prior to he emergence as the People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the last election. The conspiracy, mudslinging, the betrayal and the treachery against him was so much. Then comes the unending litigations that took him to various courts both within and outside the state and yet he triumphed”.
“The Supreme Court victory which climaxed the litigations was a clear indication that Governor Oborevwori, is a man of Grace who had been ordained for this purpose and coming to power at about this time shows God wanted to use to him to develop the state beyond what any of his successors had done”.
“This victory has further reaffirmed that it is God who gives power to whom He please and it is also God that qualifies a leader to assume position of authority no matter the conspiracy or campaign of calumny against such a leader by those working against him”.
“Based on this, I want to call on his opponents in the last election, especially, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as well as the past Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, to put whatever political differences they have with Governor Oborevwori behind them and work closely with him for the greater good of the state”.
Let me also used this opportunity to congratulate all the other state Governors that the Supreme Court upheld their elections across the country. This is a clear indication that democracy is working. And now that the legal battles are over they should face governance and deliver the dividends of democracy to their people.
“In the same vein, I want to use this opportunity to appeal to some perceived men of God to stop heating up the polity with their fake prophesies on election matters, as most post election litigations were unnecessary but because gullible politicians believed in false prophets, they opted for legal means even without solid evidences to proof their case”.
“To put an end to the colossal waste of time and state funds spent on election court cases, our men of God should desist from making election predictions in prophecies which in most cases turns out to be fakes, thereby heating up the polity”.
“Apart from the wastage of time and resources for both the plaintiffs and defendants, who spent both personal and state funds all through to the Supreme Court, these fake prophesies also causes a huge distractions in the business of governance across the states“, he lamented.
