Senator representing Ogun West district, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has called on Christian faithful not to commemorate Christmas with merry-making alone, but use it as a period of sober reflection and supplication to God for a better, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
Adeola, Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriations, in his Christmas message signed by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, said what the country needs is prayer especially as the many gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu began to manifest and are consolidated.
While felicitating with his constituents and Nigerians on the occasion of Christmas, the senator otherwise known as Yayi, noted that “Christmas represents the celebration of the birth of a new dawn for the salvation of souls for all humanity especially for the Christians”, stressing that with the birth of Jesus Christ, mankind has hope for a better future and salvation of souls for eternity.
“I want to urge all Christian faithful not to use the occasion of 2025 Christmas celebration for merry-making only but use it as a period of sober reflection and supplication to God Almighty for a better, peaceful and prosperous future. The reforms of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration have yielded some positive results in the strengthening and stabilizing of the Naira as well as the downward movement of price of petrol and some basic food items.
“Remarkably, the inflation rate has plummeted from a high of about 38 percent in the early part of this year to 14.45 percent last month with food inflation coming as low as 11.08 percent. I urge all Nigerians to see the season as another opportunity for fervent prayers for a new dawn and prosperous future for individuals and the Nigeria nation”, the senator stated.
He acknowledged that Nigerians are going through a difficult period of socio-economic downturn occasioned by many historical local and global factors, urging Nigerians to look forward to a better future of renewed hope.
He added that “with abiding faith in Jesus Christ all our challenges will be a thing of the past with restoration of desired economic growth, peace, security and poverty reduction”, Adeola submitted.
