Sterling Bank has deepened its support for Nigeria’s creative economy with its headline sponsorship of the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria Made By Nigerians Festival 2025, held from December 20 to 21, 2025. The two-day showcase convened Africa’s leading designers alongside more than 250 emerging fashion and trade entrepreneurs, creating a vibrant platform for innovation, commerce, and market expansion.

The event, staged at a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s creative sector, underscored fashion’s growing role as a driver of youth employment, enterprise development, and export growth. Speaking on the bank’s involvement, Sterling Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer, Don Okpako, said the partnership reflects the institution’s long-standing commitment to entrepreneurship. “Entrepreneurship has always shaped Nigeria’s progress. At Sterling, our role is to enable the people creating the value that moves this nation forward,” he said, describing fashion as a powerful engine of opportunity and inclusive growth.

AFWNxMBNFest 2025 also functioned as a Made By Nigerians–powered retail fair, enabling designers and small businesses to sell directly to thousands of visitors while building brand visibility and long-term commercial relationships. According to Chidimma Okoli, Chief Project Officer at Made By Nigerians, the collaboration removed long-standing barriers for local brands by providing access to markets, tools, and audiences critical for sustainable growth. Africa Fashion Week Nigeria Founder and Executive Director, Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, hailed the 2025 edition as one of the most inclusive and commercially impactful showcases to date, noting that it strengthened Nigeria’s position in the global creative marketplace while spotlighting the next generation of fashion innovators.
