Permanent Secretary of the State House, Temitope Fashedemi, has paid tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as an elder statesman whose life was dedicated to the development of Nigeria.
According to a statement issued by Director of Information and Public Relations, Abiodun Oladunjoye, while signing the condolence register at the State House on Wednesday, Fashedemi praised Buhari as “a great man with passion for duty and totally focused on nation building.” He added, “You were a man of integrity and very committed to the improvement of the livelihood of the majority of our citizens, especially the poor amongst us.”
Fashedemi also noted that those who served alongside Buhari recognised his steadfast commitment to the country. “For those of us in the State House and the larger Public Service, we can vouch for your concern for the nation and that you gave your best to our country Nigeria. You will be forever missed.”
He concluded his remarks by praying for divine mercy and eternal rest for the former president.
In line with the directive from President Bola Tinubu, condolence registers have been opened across all Federal Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Nigerian missions abroad to allow Nigerians and the diplomatic community to pay their respects.
